MARTIN ROWLEY (BEM)

Martin moved to York with the Army in 1985 and left the army here a year later. After a time in sales, he trained as a Financial Advisor and worked in the Banking sector as a Regional Manager until 2013. Martin owns and runs a number of businesses in York, and lives in Osbaldwick with his wife and daughter.  He is a trustee of 2 charities, a governor of 2 schools and in the spare time he does have, plays golf at Forest Park where he is a member. Martin is an accomplished wood worker and has created a number of bespoke deckings. He and Peter have been best friends for over 35 years and started Bradrow together. 


Martin was awarded the BEM (British Empire Medal) in the Queen’s 2021 New Years Honours List for services to the community in York.

PETE BRADLEY

Pete was born and brought up in the Southbank area of York. Following his education at Danesmead School, he followed many of his friends into the then British Rail Carriage Works where he did an apprenticeship in vehicle building. It was there that Pete developed his attention to detail, and honed his woodworking and joinery skills.  Following the closure of the Carriage Works, he joined the Prison Service and completed 23 years of exemplary service with them in 2020.  During his time with HMPS, he continued to work for himself on various building and construction projects.

Pete is married to Julie and they live in Huntington, and have 2 grown up children. Pete is well known in the city for the high level of craftsmanship he brings to any woodworking project.
